KnifeSharpening.Vertical 2Last weekend was a busy one for us here at The Coastal Cupboard! Our staff sharpened away the wear and tear of thousands of dull knives to raise $4,400 for East Cooper Meals on Wheels at our Semi Annual Charity Knife Sharpening Event on June 11-14.

It was only $1 to sharpen a knife, and every dollar was donated to East Cooper Meals on Wheels. We are excited to say this donation from this event alone will serve 1,760 well balanced meals to homebound residents East of the Cooper in Mount Pleasant, Daniel Island and surrounding areas.

The Coastal Cupboard owner, Brad Pitner, said “This sets the record for the most money raised during our June knife sharpening event. East Cooper Meals on Wheels serves a wonderful cause, and the community went above and beyond to help make a difference!”

“We are so grateful for the generosity of The Coastal Cupboard team in helping to eradicate dull knives from our community and providing meals for our recipients,” humorously shared George Roberts, President/CEO of East Cooper Meals on Wheels. Humor aside, Roberts continued, “The collective effort will help us provide upward of 1,800 meals this summer to East Cooper residents.”

If you missed out this time, don’t worry- our next Charity Knife Sharpening Event will be this Fall.
